Our work supports the following SDGs:

Equinix is dedicated to fostering a culture of belonging for all. We adhere to our non-discrimination policies and promote equal opportunity in our workforce.

Equinix works to achieve and maintain optimal water efficiency across our operations to reduce our water footprint and ensure sustainable use of water.

Equinix is a founding member of the Clean Energy Buyers Alliance (CEBA). We have a long-term goal to reach 100% clean and renewable energy coverage for our global portfolio, and we advocate for the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Equinix strives to offer purpose-driven work to our employees and support their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing to provide long-lasting and meaningful careers.

Equinix builds resilient infrastructure that enables digital businesses to transform, collaborate and thrive in ways that fuel global economic growth and innovation. We strive to design the data center of the future centered on innovation, efficiency and integration to clean energy grids.

We are building a people-centered culture where every employee feels safe, valued and respected. We also look for ways to leverage our business and partners to advance digital inclusion, promote workforce development and increase technical skills across the communities in which we live and operate.

We evaluate opportunities to minimize waste going to landfills through resource reduction, recycling and reuse. Equinix integrates circularity to minimize the environmental impact of electronic waste.

We are addressing the urgency of global climate change through our targets. We were the first data center company to set a 100% clean and renewable energy coverage goal for our global portfolio. We have also set decarbonization goals, including an SBTi approved long-term target to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. We continuously work to assess and mitigate the risk our business faces from climate change.

Equinix pursues opportunities to preserve and enhance ecosystems surrounding its data centers. Our Global Design Standards require all new builds to dedicate a portion of site area to green space to support biodiversity and employee well-being, and we empower employees to lead biodiversity initiatives at their sites.
Our customers are at the center of everything we do. Our digital infrastructure enables them to seamlessly access a global platform, deliver innovative services at the edge and connect with sustainability minded partners and suppliers.
Equinix Green Power Reports (GPRs) provide our customers with high-quality insights into electricity consumption, renewable energy usage and carbon emissions from activities at Equinix International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) sites. These reports provide customers with data related to the renewable energy coverage of their deployments, accurately measure greenhouse gas emissions based on their footprint and aid in responding to reporting requirements.
The following customers have used our documentation in their sustainability reporting efforts.

“Having 100% certified green energy was a priority for us, especially for this type of high-performance, supercomputer/AI environment. Following Continental’s sustainability framework, the project team was very happy to see that Equinix could provide us with the necessary resources to run AI trainings much faster with greater optimization and sustainably.”

We also now offer our new Customer Water Report (CWR), which provides our customers with metrics such as their allocated water withdrawal volumes to better understand the water footprint associated with their Equinix deployments.
